It’s been a long time since I’ve properly been camping, but in France I used to go to this scouts-like thing that my church put on, and once or twice a year, the event was to go camping. I always had a good time, although more because of the people I was with than because I was camping, I think. But still. Fond memories. I’d like to again sometime, the last time that happened was the beginning of 6th grade, I think.

I think I’d flown a kite before this, but I most distinctly remember flying one on a beach in Normandy, maybe a year before we moved to the US. It was cold and we couldn’t swim, and it was windy too, a great day to fly a kite.

Almost every year so far I’ve had one. Especially in elementary school, though. Everyone did one. I have very fond memories of mine as well as my friends’ parties. Lots of laughter, and good food.

My first big concert was when I was in 5th grade. I went with my dad and my older sister, and we saw Michael W. Smith, because apparently he was touring Europe and came to Paris! I remember having a lot of fun, and I’d never been to anything quite like it before.

Since then I have been to many a concert, and would consider myself a regular concert attender, especially since moving to the USA. Bands I have seen live include: Switchfoot, The Goo Goo Dolls, Parachute, Relient K, Copeland, He is We, Anberlin, Jars of Clay, Mercyme and many others still.

I feel like my heart is torn in several opposing directions and I don’t know how to reconcile them to each other
I miss France
I miss Africa
I love theatre
I love music
I love film
I miss travelling frequently, easily and cheaply.
Also, I miss France, have I mentioned?
I love my best friend to death

Some of these are ultimately going to clash

On a smaller scale: I want a date to prom, but I don’t want to get involved with anyone. Oh what a dilemma how will I ever survive

Anyway.

I played for what, like 5-6 years? I think I started at 7 and stopped at 13, when we moved to the US. I kind of got sick of it, I dunno. It’s a beautiful instrument, though, and sometimes I regret giving it up.

I’m not sure when the first time I performed on stage would be, but I must’ve been pretty young I think. Well, regardless, throughout my years in high school I have been rather involved with the choir and theatre departments, both of which result in multiple onstage performances.

Right now, I’m in a production of In The Heights, one of the coolest musicals ever! We open next week, I am super excited yay.

My sister got a chess set several years ago for Christmas and she taught me how to play with her. I wasn’t very good. I still am not, and I’m not sure I remember all the rules either, aha.
